Alfredo Cramerotti: Hyperimaging
Lecture presentation 14 December 2017, USW Cardiff, European Centre for Documentary Research, Atrium Building, Cardiff.

Exploring how digitalization has made photography heterogeneous, multiple and interrelated to other media; from print to online streaming and processing via software that translates audio and sonic impulse into images. Photography went from being an interface akin to an artwork or a scientific tool – “a system of visual editing,” as curator John Szarkowski put it (1976) – to become a complex system in which users double as creators. It is now an environment of relation-building, identity-shaping: a ‘territory’ not merely digital, and not exclusively online.
